The location is really amazing, less that a few steps from the beach. The hotel is quite old, no renovations the restarurant is very good, expensive, but very good

We stayed at this hotel in April 2011. We enjoyed the pool, recently installed free WIFI and the location - being directly on the beach was what worth the extra cost. The strong traditions of the club were apparent throughout the property. They were also really family friendly with a box of beach toys including boogie boards! Watching the sunset over  the ocean with a fire on the sand was lovely. The hotel was generally very clean, and the staff friendly, but we did experience an incident that soured our impression somewhat. While the room was cleaned punctually, the staff seemed very slow to remove garbage and dirty linen bags from outside our room door. One morning, an evening room service tray that was left overnight (along with a bag of garbage) attracted some seagulls... this resulted in a dirty diaper lying in front of our door when we left our room. That said, we would give them one more chance, the benefit of the doubt, just in case there was a short-staffing issue to blame.
