Recent Empress La Jolla Review: "I initially had rated the place 5's across the board. That has a lot to do with the fact that front desk staff of Jason and Brett(r) were great. They immediately welcomed us, informed me of the parking situation around the hotel and even offered to park the car in a suitable area.
That's enough to make me overlook the fact that the hotel isn't perfect, but is very well maintained and has been renovated in areas that count.
For instance our room was basic for this hotel, but it featured a newly remodeled bathroom with appointments on par with fine hotels. The room while a bit small, was very comfortable with enough room for all of our belongings and then some.
The surrounding area is what you're there for and this hotel puts you within walking distance to anything in La Jolla.
We can't say enough nice things about the place and their staff. We really enjoyed our stay and wished that we could have had the same experience in each of our stops along the PCH.
Given the chance we would stay here again and invite you or any of our friends visiting La Jolla to do the same."
