Recent Grande Colonial Hotel Review: "The Grande Colonial was perfect for our family of four. We stayed in a modest village view room. La Jolla is breathtaking and the location of the hotel was perfect for us. We were able to walk to many restaurants and shops and still enjoy the beauty of the cove. It was even better than we expected. The staff was particularly helpful and friendly when we asked for suggestions to keep our boys (ages 7 & 9) amused. The pool is beautiful and its surroundings are relaxing. I have to say that the one thing that stood out for us was the valet service. No one wants to pay for parking, but it comes with the territory when you stay in a place like La Jolla (and it really does make things a lot easier anyway). However, the valet staff was excellent in every way. They were worth the money. They were professional, prompt and as friendly as could be. This hotel comes highly recommended by my family. (Oh, yes and even the beds are comfortable!)"
