Moany of the reviews cover what may not be up to date with this classic La Jolla Cove hotel. I paid my bill and put a deposit on my next stay! I needed a break, needed to be close to the sea, and checking in on a cool Sunday evening, i was offered an upgrade. Balcony where you can hear the waves breaking, sea gulls and sea lions. The staff is superb,  helpful, kind, knowledgable, gracious and very fair. The edge of the northern continent, swim right out the door of the hotel, palm trees green grass, the Pacific. Pillows were super comfy, my bed was fine, more closets than i could fill, beautiful view from rooftop breakfast, fast internet, wonderful pass to the La Jolla Sports Club classes and workout equip. Checked in for one night, chose 2 nights as i got my key, and stayed a 3rd night to breathe that sea air and smile at the staff and their friendly helpfullness. Headed back next month. Thankyou! Lots of room w/kitchen, storage & balcony. Walk to shopping and restaurants and along the beach. Breakfast is limited and no restaurant in hotel. We only had 1 night but would enjoy several days here. Hotel is older but clean and comfortable. Would love to return!

One of the very best and finest places I have stayed throughout the world!!!We had a great room right over the coves. We all loved it. I would higjly reccomend it and stay again asap. Thanks.

This pet-friendly hotel is a must for the entire family....and don't forget the dog! With its balonies facing the ocean, you can spend the entire day listening to the waves and watching the passer-bys, not to mention the antics of the sea lions. The beautiful and spacious park lays out before you, filled with families flying kites and enjoying their  sunny day. The hotel is rather old, but many ammenities have been added to make it current with a newer feel. Located within walking distance of shops and pet-friendly eateries, this hotel is amazingly less espensive than other hotels in the area. The staff members are friendly, courteous, and very helpful. The pool and jacuzzi are located above and behind the hotel giving a very open feeling, and the Continental breakfasts are offered on the roof where you can enjoy delicious food and the amazing views of La Jolla's Cove and Shore. It's primarily about the location that gives this hotel its charm, but because it's pet-friendly, we find ourselves back there time and time again.

My wife, myself, and our three sons drove in late on a Friday night and got lost thanks to the Navigation system in our Chevrolet Tahoe (whole different story). The hotel staff waited on us into the early hours Sat and talked us in off the numerous freeway circles leading into the La Jolla area. We couldn't have had nicer staff. The room was great. We woke up Sat AM to a beautiful Sea side view. In our opinion there's now no better place to stay in the La Jolla area. These people go above and beyond.
